AquaTru Carafe bundles: choose the right purifier and extras
AquaTru Carafe bundles can be confusing because a package may contain the purifier, a different finishing filter, spare filters, a second vessel or a separate shower filter. Those additions do not all change the drinking-water treatment path. Decide which Carafe you want first; only then choose an optional package that matches how you will store water or keep replacement parts on hand.
Start with the Carafe configuration
The current Carafe family has four basic filter/app combinations: VOC Carbon or Mineral Boost VOC Carbon, each with the standard Carafe or Carafe Smart. The maker's bundle options repeat those same four distinctions; the package code does not itself create a fifth filter route. If you want to compare the purifier and its source-supported limits, use the separate Carafe format guide and the reviews for 90AT100AT01, 90AT100ATA01, 90AT100SC01 and 90AT100SCA01. Smart is an app-connected choice; it is not a substitute for checking whether a particular contaminant need has a documented Carafe test result.
Pick the extra for your routine, not a stronger claim
- Extra one-year filter packs: The VOC Carbon bundle and the Mineral Boost bundle each pair one Carafe variant with another year-style set of filters. The maker's current option names specify two Pre/Carbon filters plus one finishing filter; choose the VOC or Mineral Boost set to match the Carafe path you selected. An extra cartridge pack is stocking convenience, not a more capable purifier body. See the filter-pack guide for cartridge positions and what a pack does not include.
- Extra glass carafe: The Carafe + Glass Carafe package is useful if you want a second vessel ready in the refrigerator while the unit's carafe is being filled or served. It is storage capacity, not an extra treatment stage. The separately sold glass vessel and the Carafe Tru-Infuser are also serving accessories; neither is itself a filter.
- Sliding tray: A tray is a counter-access convenience for moving the unit forward to refill, clean or reach the reservoir. The Carafe and Classic trays have separate model-specific listings. Do not choose one solely because both product names say “sliding tray.”
- Mineral Drops: This package adds the maker's separate mineral drops to a Carafe configuration. That is a different purchase choice from selecting the Mineral Boost VOC filter. Do not treat either mineral option as a contaminant-removal claim; use the exact performance sheet for filtration questions.
- Carafe + Shower: This package combines a drinking-water Carafe with a separate showerhead filter. Its shower finish/color choices do not change the Carafe's drinking-water filter. If you only need a pitcher-format drinking-water system, the shower component is not a reason to prefer this bundle.
Check fit before ordering a replacement part
AquaTru's current accessory pages distinguish the Carafe tap-water tank from the Classic tank and explicitly say they do not fit each other's countertop models. The Carafe tap-tank lid is listed for Carafe or Carafe Smart and explicitly not for Classic or Connect. The Carafe power adapter is specified as 120V AC to 24V DC, 1.75A; the Classic/Connect adapter has its own product code. Use the part named for the model on your unit rather than assuming that similar-looking tanks, lids or adapters interchange. A filter-removal tool is for the Carafe's prong filters, while the floater kit/lid and rubber feet address physical wear, not water quality.
Keep other AquaTru systems out of the pitcher choice
Some bundle cards combine the Classic countertop purifier, Under Sink purifier or shower filter with another item. A glass carafe packaged with an Under Sink system is a serving vessel attached to a fixed under-sink filtration setup; it does not turn that setup into a pitcher through which water is gravity-filtered. Similarly, a shower bundle has no drinking-water pitcher. These distinctions matter if your essential requirement is a removable pitcher or you need the system to fit in a refrigerator.
Read the performance evidence separately from bundle copy
Do not use a bundle headline or a contaminant-count headline as a substitute for the performance sheet. The Carafe sheet names models AT100, AT110, AT120, AT130 and AT140, identifies IAPMO R&T certification to the listed NSF/ANSI standards, and gives test substances and conditions. The current Carafe product page also describes IAPMO-certified performance. AquaTru's FAQ is inconsistent with those materials: its general answer says its countertop and under-sink purifiers are certified for 84 contaminants, but a later Carafe-specific answer still says 78 had passed, five were in testing and Carafe certification was pending. The detailed sheet is more useful than either count. However, the manufacturer materials examined do not identify which AT100–AT140 code corresponds one-to-one with retail SKUs 90AT100AT01, 90AT100ATA01, 90AT100SC01 or 90AT100SCA01. Treat its results as Carafe-family context, not as proof for a specific retail SKU/filter combination; if a named contaminant is essential, ask AquaTru to confirm the precise SKU, finishing filter and sheet entry before relying on it. An added filter pack or showerhead cannot resolve that identity gap.
The practical sequence is simple: select the standard or Smart Carafe and its exact finishing-filter path, verify that path against your water-treatment need, then add only the spare filters, vessel, tray or shower component that fits your routine. For an exact part code or unresolved compatibility question, confirm with AquaTru support instead of guessing from a bundle title.
