A useful fit for

AquaTru’s powered Carafe RO setup for someone who wants the standard VOC-carbon route and a removable glass water vessel, plus the Smart model’s app-based filter-life and usage tracking.

The main tradeoff

Initial Smart setup uses Wi-Fi/app onboarding, supported in North America only. It still fills a 64-ounce removable carafe that must be lifted and poured; the app does not make the output a button-dispenser format or a water-safety test.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you want powered filtration into a removable glass pitcher that you lift and pour, rather than gravity or button dispensing?

AquaTru lists a powered RO cycle that fills a removable 64-ounce glass carafe; this exact package includes 10AT100VF01 and serves by pouring. Capacity is not an immediate output from the feed tank.

Smart tracking on a countertop purifier that still serves by pouring

The AquaTru Carafe Smart with VOC Carbon Filter is the connected version of a small reverse-osmosis countertop purifier, not an electric pitcher that dispenses through a button. SKU 90AT100SC01 identifies the Carafe Smart / VOC Carbon Filter variant. A motorized filtration cycle fills a removable 64-ounce glass vessel; when the clean-water container is ready, you lift it out and pour. If you want a button or touch-free outlet, a different countertop dispenser will match that routine better. If you prefer to carry a glass carafe to the table or reserve a cold supply in the refrigerator, this layout makes more sense.

There are two water vessels to manage: the 2.5-liter tap-water tank supplies the system, while the clean-water side is a 1.9-liter/64-ounce glass carafe. The product is listed at eight eight-ounce cups by simple volume conversion, but that capacity is in the filtered-water vessel, not an instant output from one pour of the feed tank. The listed body is 7.5 inches wide, 14 deep and 13 high, and about nine pounds empty. It needs a 120-volt outlet, access to the tank and enough clearance to remove the carafe. Those specifics are more useful for planning a counter than assuming the product can fit on any shelf because its purified-water reservoir is modest.

The app is a real setup and ownership distinction

AquaTru says the Smart option pairs with its app for filter-life information, use tracking and replacement reminders. Its Smart owner's manual also describes tracking TDS levels and bottles saved. That does not make a TDS reading a complete water-safety test, nor does it identify each contaminant in your water. The manual tells owners to connect to Wi-Fi before installing filters and running the purifier, and says app support is in North America. That is a relevant constraint if you do not have a supported network or do not want to use a phone account for setup. The non-Smart Carafe is a better fit for someone who wants to avoid that connected step; both versions have physical filter indicators.

Do not compare the two output-rate numbers in isolation. The Carafe Smart manual gives a 39-gallon-per-day production rate, whereas the later 09.25.R5 Carafe performance sheet lists 35 GPD. The official materials do not explain the difference. I would treat the number as a laboratory/technical rating rather than a promise of household supply and plan around the carafe you can actually store and refill. The PDS reports 63 percent efficiency under typical operating conditions; real results vary with source water and conditions.

Performance and maintenance boundaries

The manufacturer’s Carafe performance sheet describes an AT100–AT140 product family with listed reduction testing under NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 and 401; it also covers NSF/ANSI 372 lead-free construction. The same sheet lists the Carafe filters: pre/carbon 10AT100SF01, RO 10AT100RF01 and the VOC finishing cartridge 10AT100VF01 for this package. Its named test table includes lead, fluoride, PFOA/PFOS, cysts, chlorine and chloramine, among other targets. That is a filter and test-conditions record, not a promise against unlisted substances. The manual restricts use to cold municipal water or another source already known to be microbiologically safe. Do not treat this appliance as a way to disinfect unknown water.

The PDS names the AT100–AT140 system family but does not map the retail Smart VOC SKU 90AT100SC01 one-to-one to a system code. The Carafe family's test table is useful context, not exact-SKU proof; obtain a current record covering this Smart SKU and its VOC cartridge if a specific reduction is essential.

Plan for different replacement clocks: the pre/carbon filter is rated at 300 gallons or six months, the RO membrane at 600 gallons or 24 months, and the VOC filter at 300 gallons or 12 months. Usage and water quality affect actual life. A more distinctive ownership chore is the waste tank: after each refill indicator, empty the concentrated leftover water in the tap tank before refilling; the manual warns that skipping this can damage the unit and void the warranty. Wash both tanks and the glass carafe weekly by hand, keep them out of sunlight and away from hot surfaces, and act on scaling. Water above 10 gpg hardness is not recommended unless softened first.

Choose this model when app-supported filter bookkeeping is worth the setup and you still want poured service from the removable glass vessel. The alkaline Smart SKU adds the separate mineral-boost filter; it does not make this one dispense differently. For a low-maintenance pitcher, button dispensing, uncertain-source treatment or no Wi-Fi onboarding, look elsewhere. The product image is the manufacturer's composite studio rendering; the phone overlay depicts its app and should not be mistaken for a photo of the device installed in a home.
