Comparison

Aarke Purifier vs Purifier Large: Pure or Enriched?

First decide whether you want Pure or Enriched

Aarke sells the Purifier in two body sizes and two granule routes. Pure is the manufacturer’s limescale-reduction option; Enriched is promoted for added magnesium and higher pH, and Aarke says it does not reduce limescale. Those are different choices, not two modes to load into a single cartridge at once. The exact kits that include both kinds of bags still require choosing which bag to pour into the refillable steel cartridge. Aarke says other brands’ cartridges and granules are not compatible.

For each route, the company’s product pages publish reduction ranges dependent on input-water quality and cite EN 17093:2018. We did not find a separate independent test report or a third-party certification listing for these exact configurations. Aarke’s support page says the granules do not reduce fluoride or microplastics and says it cannot define a PFAS reduction amount. Read those details as manufacturer statements; if you need an essential contaminant result, request evidence for the named filter and compare it with your water report. Neither version is for contaminated water or microbiological treatment.

Then choose the chamber size, not just the carafe headline

The standard Purifier lists 10 cups / 2.36 L total but 5 cups / 1.18 L of filtered-water capacity. Purifier Large lists 12 cups / 2.84 L total and 7 cups / 1.66 L filtered. Those lower-chamber figures are more useful when estimating how much is ready to pour after a refill. Aarke estimates roughly 3–5 minutes per liter, so either size needs time to filter.

Measure shelves and count the weekly care

Aarke lists the standard body at 10.8 inches tall and 6.7 inches wide; Large is 9.84 inches tall and 8.27 inches wide. Both have round bases, and the manufacturer says they are unlikely to fit in a narrow refrigerator-door pocket. Large is lower, not narrower. The carafes are glass; Large uses a recycled Ocean Bound Plastic handle, and both designs include a refillable steel cartridge and other non-glass parts. Treat the official size as a measurement to compare with your shelf, not a universal refrigerator fit guarantee.

The U.S./Canada manual instructs owners to wash the parts, soak a freshly loaded cartridge for five minutes, discard that water and discard the first cold-water rinse. Each granule bag is rated for up to 120 L / 31.7 U.S. gallons or eight weeks, whichever comes first. The manual recommends weekly cleaning and a weekly three-minute boil of the cartridge with granules, then cooling and rinsing it; dishwasher cleaning is allowed below 140°F / 60°C. Keep the filter bags sealed until needed, store filtered water cool away from direct sun, and use it within 24 hours.

Compare the exact package before ordering

The two Pure Kit product descriptions say three bags, while their “Included in the box” lists say four. Their product images show three. The Enriched Kit page consistently lists one Pure bag plus three Enriched bags; the image shows the Enriched bags but omits the Pure bag listed in the package. These are first-party source conflicts or incomplete package renderings, not a reason to guess. Ask Aarke to confirm the current included refill count before budgeting. The base Purifier and Purifier Large are separate listings from the kits and have exact model codes; they are covered in the corresponding Pure-size review as package variants, not treated as extra filter technologies.

All four reviews are for already-potable cold tap water. Aarke’s manual says not to use the pitcher to treat contaminated water and directs some groups, including people with limited immune defenses and baby-food preparation, to boil filtered water. If you want to leave water in the vessel, follow the 24-hour limit. These operating rules, the glass handling and the weekly boil are as important to fit as the elegant material mix.
