Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you want Aarke's Enriched granules and their maker-listed magnesium/pH feature?
The kit's primary operating plan uses Enriched granules. Aarke describes magnesium addition and increased pH; the company says this route does not reduce limescale.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the standard 10-cup-total / 5-cup-filtered body fit your household?
The total 10-cup carafe is not 10 cups ready at once; the filtered lower chamber is 5 cups / 1.18 L.
Explore this need in the finder →Can you maintain an eight-week-or-120-liter granule change and weekly cleaning?
Each refill is specified for up to 120 L / 31.7 U.S. gallons or eight weeks, whichever comes first, with weekly care in the manual.
Explore this need in the finder →The Enriched refill changes the water route, not the pitcher size
Aarke’s Purifier Alkaline Kit uses the standard glass Purifier and its refillable stainless-steel granule cartridge, with Enriched Filter Granules as the main listed filter route. The carafe is rated at 10 cups total, while its lower filtered chamber holds about 5 cups (1.18 liters). It is gravity-fed and has no button dispenser, pump or electronic life counter. A small date dial in the lid is the reminder. The Aarke manufacturer rendering shows the 5-cup-filtered Purifier and three Enriched bags; the package list separately includes one Pure refill bag that is not shown in that image.
Choose it for the maker’s mineral feature, not for scale reduction
Aarke describes Enriched granules as activated carbon, ion-exchange resin and a mineral addition. The company says they reduce chlorine and heavy metals such as copper and lead, add magnesium, and raise pH; its listed pH is above 8.5 when inlet water is pH 7. The page presents reduction ranges as dependent on source-water quality and cites EN 17093:2018. I did not locate an independent test report or a third-party certification record for this exact configuration. The manufacturer’s statements are not a health outcome, a guaranteed pH for every tap or evidence that alkaline water changes body chemistry.
Enriched is importantly different from Pure: Aarke says it does not reduce limescale. The additional Pure refill bag in this kit can be loaded separately when you later choose that route, but the cartridge holds one granule configuration at a time. This review and its matching plan describe the Enriched operating choice, not a mixture. If your priority is the manufacturer’s scale-reduction feature rather than added magnesium and pH, compare the Pure Kit instead. Aarke’s support page also says the granules do not reduce fluoride or microplastics and gives no defined PFAS reduction amount.
Small-batch output is different from the 10-cup headline
The product page lists a 2.36-liter total carafe (rounded there to 2.4 L / 10 cups) but 1.18 L / 5 cups of filtered water. That is the immediately available filtered capacity; the upper hopper takes space. Aarke estimates a flow of 3–5 minutes per liter, so a full filtered chamber is not instant. For several people drinking through the day, you will likely need to refill the upper reservoir and let another cycle finish. The standard pitcher stands about 10.8 inches high and 6.7 inches wide, with a round 4.7-inch base. It is narrower than the Large body, but taller; neither shape should be assumed to fit a refrigerator door without measuring.
The listed package contents are three Enriched refill bags plus one Pure bag, and the page describes the three Enriched bags as almost six months of supply. Each individual refill is rated up to 120 liters (31.7 U.S. gallons) or eight weeks; the time and volume limits are not a promise that all four bags provide the same number of months in your household. Aarke says harder water can use up granules sooner. The bonus Pure bag is a separate configuration and should not be counted as an additional Enriched refill.
There is a real startup and weekly routine
The U.S./Canada guide instructs you to wash the pitcher parts first, put the chosen granules into the cartridge, close it, soak the cartridge in tap water for five minutes and discard that soak. After seating the cartridge, fill the hopper with cold tap water and discard one rinse fill; make sure loose granules do not remain in the water. When the bags are used, replace granules no later than eight weeks or 120 liters, whichever arrives first, and reset the manual lid dial.
The same guide says to clean the pitcher at least weekly and recommends boiling the cartridge with granules for three minutes once per week for hygiene, followed by a cool-down and rinse. It also says the parts may be washed in a dishwasher below 140°F / 60°C. If you rarely have time for recurring care, this routine is a practical drawback compared with a sealed snap-in cartridge. The manual limits the system to cold water that already meets drinking-water requirements, says not to use it to treat contaminated water, and limits stored filtered water to 24 hours in a cool place away from sun. It instructs some groups, including people with limited immune defenses and those preparing baby food, to boil the filtered water.
Match the filter to what you actually need
This kit may suit someone who already has legally potable cold tap water, prefers a glass carafe and refillable steel cartridge, and values Aarke’s manufacturer-listed magnesium/pH feature. It does not solve an unsafe-water problem or establish bacteria, virus, cyst, fluoride or PFAS performance. The page’s lead and chlorine statements are still manufacturer claims rather than independent certification, so ask for exact evidence if they are the reason for your purchase. For a stronger directly documented result, compare models only on the relevant contaminant and test record rather than the word “alkaline.”
The separate 7-cup-filtered Large Alkaline Kit offers the same Enriched choice in a shorter, wider carafe. If kitchen space matters, measure before choosing: standard is 10.8 inches high and 6.7 wide; Large is 9.84 high and 8.27 wide. Both have a round base and glass pitcher, and both require Aarke’s refill bags. The Alkaline Kit’s listing price and availability can change, so this assessment does not quote a price or infer stock.

| What the filter is documented to reduce | Aarke lists chlorine, copper and lead reduction ranges dependent on source water and says the Enriched route adds magnesium and increases pH. It says Enriched does not reduce limescale. Lead is deliberately unknown for essential test-record matching; no microbial result or defined PFAS reduction is documented. |
| Use and care | Use only cold water that already meets drinking-water requirements; not a contaminated-water or microbiological treatment device. Keep filtered water cool, out of direct sun and use within 24 hours; manual says boil-water guidance applies to filtered water and some groups should boil it. |
| Separate TDS meter included | No |
| Manufacturer dimensions as listed | Aarke lists H 10.8 in, W 6.7 in and diameter 4.7 in; manual lists about 275 mm high and 120 mm diameter. Measure actual shelf clearance. |
| Pitcher material | Glass carafe, refillable stainless steel SUS304 cartridge, BPA-free food-grade thermoplastic and food-grade silicone components. |
| Button-controlled electric dispensing | No |
| Stainless-steel body | No |
| Manufacturer page describes calcium/magnesium reduction | No |
| Glass water reservoir | Yes |
| Manufacturer-listed feature note | Aarke says Enriched adds magnesium and raises pH; it explicitly says this route does not reduce limescale. Do not treat the alkaline/mineral feature as a health effect or verified output in every home. |
