Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would a 15-cup tank with push-button dispensing fit your counter routine?
The ED25TW manual lists 15 cups/3.6 L and button-operated electric dispensing. It is not a gravity pitcher.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you want the manual-named WD-EWFR cartridge route?
The exact manual names WD-EWFR; Waterdrop lists the filter for ED25TW and ED06, though ED06's manual uses WD-EWFS. Check the code on your unit.
Explore this need in the finder →Is an exact, documented lead result essential?
Waterdrop uses broad 20-plus/lead marketing, but no exact WD-ED25TW/WD-EWFR lead performance report was located. Unknown does not meet an essential lead requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need gravity dispensing without a battery?
The ED25TW uses an internal rechargeable battery and button pump. It cannot satisfy a gravity-only requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →Would the 40-gallon filter rating be enough for your replacement routine?
Waterdrop's manual gives an up-to-two-month limit and its product FAQ says 40 gallons; either limit can arrive first. The separate replacement page's 24-month subscription text conflicts and is not a safe replacement interval.
Explore this need in the finder →The Waterdrop ED25TW is a 15-cup, rechargeable countertop dispenser for someone who prefers pushing a button over tilting a full pitcher. Its distinct filter route is WD-EWFR. It is not a gravity-fed refrigerator pitcher, and its advertised TDS and contaminant reductions should not be treated as an exact performance result without the matching test sheet.
A 15-cup tank, not 15 cups already filtered
The model-specific manual lists a 15-cup (3.6-liter) reservoir and a body measuring 10.3 inches long, 6.5 inches wide and 10.4 inches high. Waterdrop lists a maximum flow of 0.18 gallons per minute, or 0.7 liters per minute. The tank size describes what you can fill, not a ready-to-drink batch sitting in storage: this system filters through its electric pump as you dispense. A counter appliance also is less convenient than a light jug if you want to carry water to a table or store the whole system in a narrow refrigerator shelf.
Operation is more hands-off than pouring but still involves a small sequence. The manual says to tap the dispensing key to wake the display, tap again to start the flow and tap again to pause it. It automatically stops after more than four minutes of continuous dispensing. A 1,000-mAh battery is rated for up to 20 days under a 77°F, 15-cup-a-day test condition; temperature and how often you use it change that result. USB Type-C charging is required, and the manual lists 5 volts/1 amp. Plan for a charging habit, rather than expecting it to operate like a passive pitcher.
Filter life and upkeep need attention
The exact WD-ED25TW manual names the replacement cartridge WD-EWFR and gives a life of up to two months. Waterdrop's ED25TW product FAQ also says up to 40 gallons. Treat these as ceilings and replace at the earlier limit; actual life can vary with use and feed water. One product-page quirk deserves special caution: the current first-party WD-EWFR replacement page offers an autoship schedule that says to replace every 24 months. That is incompatible with this exact manual's two-month guidance, so it is not a sensible interval to follow for the ED25TW without model-specific clarification. Check the code on the device and use its manual when ordering.
Initial setup takes more than filling the reservoir. The manual directs you to clean the tank, install the cartridge, fill only between its MIN and MAX marks, flush the filter and discard the first tank. It also says not to drink water while the blue indicator is flashing during flush. After replacing a filter, hold the dispense key for three seconds to reset the reminder. The manual recommends brushing the tank monthly and emptying it before long storage. The manufacturer business page lists a cleaning brush among box contents, but the manual's setup page says no brush is included; confirm what is in your package before relying on that accessory.
What the filtration claims do and do not tell you
Waterdrop markets this as a five-stage system and advertises a 41% reduction in total dissolved solids plus reductions of more than 20 contaminants. The product copy names lead and several other substances, but I did not find an exact ED25TW/WD-EWFR performance sheet or named NSF/ANSI reduction result in the reviewed manufacturer material. So this review does not turn the page's broad language into a verified lead, fluoride, microbial or quantified TDS result. A TDS reduction is not a safety test and does not establish disinfection. If a particular contaminant result is essential for your household, look for a current performance sheet for this exact model and replacement filter before choosing it.
The manual specifies municipal tap water between 33°F and 100°F. Its warranty conditions list pH 6.5–8.5, turbidity below 1 NTU and feed-water TDS below 500 ppm. Those are input/use limits, not proof that a pitcher makes unsafe source water safe. Do not use it to disinfect untreated water or substitute it for treatment advice based on a water report.
How it differs from nearby Waterdrop electric models
The ED25TW shares its 15-cup reservoir size and powered dispense format with other Waterdrop countertop models, but the filter labels matter. ED25TW's manual says WD-EWFR and lists two months; ED05TW uses WD-EWFT1, while the ED06 manual identifies WD-EWFS and is listed at 17 cups. Do not order cartridges based on a similar housing. Waterdrop's WD-EWFR accessory page also names ED06, but its ED06 manual's WD-EWFS designation means the model labels should be checked before treating those codes as interchangeable. ED21W is a much larger 22-cup unit with a separate replacement family and its own revision questions. Across all of these, a larger tank does not mean a longer filter life.
Choose the ED25TW if counter dispensing and a 15-cup reservoir matter more than refrigerator storage, and you are comfortable with charging and regular filter changes. Choose a gravity pitcher if you want something you can lift, pour and keep cold without a pump. Choose on documented contaminant results, not the ED25TW's broad marketing description, when performance is a hard requirement.
