A useful fit for

The main tradeoff

The filter still has a 40-gallon/about two-month limit; the currently available older PLUS quick-start sheet does not confirm the PPT111 manual or reset procedure.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is the listed cup capacity a fit?

PUR lists this exact pitcher at 11 cups. The number describes the whole pitcher and not the amount of filtered water immediately ready after one reservoir fill.

PUR’s larger PLUS pitcher and its distinct filter route

The current PUR PLUS 11 Cup Pitcher is the PPT111 family, available in white, smoke and sage finishes. The product page lists one PUR PLUS lead-reducing cartridge, an 11-cup capacity and an electronic change light. Its listed dimensions are about 11.4 inches wide, 10.4 inches high and 4.9 inches long. The PLUS body has a different width and depth from the basic CR-1100C, even though both are nominally eleven cups. For a refrigerator shelf, measure all directions and allow for a hand on the handle and for the lid to open; do not treat the names as interchangeable bodies.

This configuration is intended for shoppers who want PUR’s PLUS filter profile in the larger of its two currently listed PLUS pitcher sizes. It can reduce refill frequency compared with a seven-cup pitcher when people share the supply. A listed eleven-cup capacity is total vessel capacity, not the filtered water immediately delivered by a single fill. The reservoir needs to drain before the rest of the pitcher is ready, so the larger body does not change the filter’s rate or service interval.

PLUS claims and a model-number bridge to keep visible

PUR’s current performance sheet identifies the PLUS pitcher filter as PPF951K and lists a lead-reduction claim, alongside additional reductions under specified test conditions. It rates the filter for 40 gallons and approximately two months. That is materially different from the standard PPF900Z cartridge included with the basic eleven-cup model, which does not carry the same lead claim. Use the exact PLUS filter data sheet, check the relevant local water report and do not treat the claim as evidence about every contaminant in a home’s water.

One source-version discrepancy needs care at replacement time. The current eleven-cup PLUS product page identifies PPT111 and links a “PUR PLUS Pitchers” quick-start guide, but the guide lists PPT710, PPT110 and CR1110 and names the older CRF-950Z cartridge. The current performance sheet names PPF951K. The exact page-to-guide attachment is first-party evidence, although the guide’s model and cartridge codes do not match the current SKU/filter sheet. Use the instructions supplied with your particular pitcher when they differ, and verify the code printed on the replacement. This review does not collapse PPT110 into PPT111 or claim CRF-950Z and PPF951K are interchangeable.

PUR cautions that its pitcher filters do not filter microbes and should not be used to make unsafe or unknown-quality water safe without disinfection. Its data sheet specifies cold water, roughly 34–82°F. Lead reduction, where documented, is not a reason to skip local water testing or public-health guidance when that is needed.

Using the light and maintaining the pitcher

The product page identifies a filter-change light, and its attached PLUS guide gives a 15-minute soak, 10-second rinse, twist-lock installation and 10-second light reset. The guide’s listed model numbers do not include PPT111, so treat it as the manufacturer-linked instruction sheet while still checking the package insert for any model-specific change. Seat the filter securely and track the two-month or 40-gallon limit yourself as a backup; a light cannot confirm actual gallons, source-water quality or contaminant reduction.

Remove the cartridge and treat any electronic indicator component according to its instructions before washing. PUR gives dishwasher guidance for the pitcher components, but not every assembly should go in as one unit. Clean the lid and reservoir, let them dry, and check that the cartridge and reminder are correctly reinstalled. Replace the cartridge at the first limit reached, earlier if water conditions or flow warrant it, and do not use hot water through the filter.

Finder decisions and alternatives

Choose eleven cups, a PUR PLUS filter and the lead-claim requirement to find PPT111. If the lead claim is not important, the PUR standard CR-1100C is a less complex route with the same nominal cup count and a narrower listed width. Select a minimum filter capacity above 40 gallons and both PUR PLUS configurations should drop out; that is a cartridge limit shared by PUR standard and PLUS pitchers. A shelf height limit under 10.4 inches excludes PPT111, and shoppers with tight width or depth should use actual measurements beyond the height question.

The PLUS 7 Cup is the smaller alternative with the same filter family. The 11-cup model makes more sense when the larger vessel will be used and its wider body fits. If an extended replacement interval is the overriding priority, Brita’s Elite cartridge has a different stated capacity and test profile; it is not a direct substitute, so compare the specific claims and dimensions. Choose the PPT111 when its filter profile and volume both fit your needs, and keep the current cartridge number attached to any replacement order.

What the filter is documented to reducePUR’s PPF951K PLUS sheet lists a lead-reduction claim and additional specified reductions under its stated test conditions. The standard and PLUS filters are different; PUR says the pitcher does not filter microbes.
Use and careUse only cold tap water, approximately 34–82°F (1–28°C). The supplied filter is rated for up to 40 gallons or about two months; replace at the first limit reached and earlier if conditions warrant. Not for microbiologically unsafe or unknown-quality water without disinfection.

Use the exact model’s instructions for operating limits, supplied equipment and version differences.
