CLEAR2O CAP350-BL Mineral Rich Alkaline Pitcher review

An earlier top-fill alkaline/mineralizing gravity pitcher shown in the manufacturer’s 2015 catalog as CAP350-BL. Its quick-start card and the current CAF301 replacement page use the unhyphenated body code CAP350BL; the filter listing explicitly names that fit.

Earlier owner reference only. CAP350-BL/CAP350BL and CAF301 are not a current pitcher-body buying recommendation.

A useful fit for

Best treated as an identification and care reference for an existing CAP350-BL/CAP350BL. The manufacturer describes a five-stage mineralizing/alkaline CAF301 route and rates it at 80 gallons. The vessel size and any exact contaminant result remain unconfirmed. For a current shopping choice, use a current exact product listing rather than treating a replacement-filter page as proof that the pitcher body is sold.

The main tradeoff

A top-window fill and alkaline/mineralizing feature may interest an owner who wants that maker-listed feature. The tradeoffs are an unknown vessel size, cold-water-only use, hand washing and an 80-gallon maker-rated cartridge. The exact page gives no numerical contaminant result or standard certification for this pitcher/filter combination; the maker’s pH wording is not a health claim.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is the maker-listed alkaline/mineralizing feature relevant to you?

Clear2O describes pH-enhancing minerals in the exact CAF301 five-stage route. Treat it as a feature preference, not a health benefit or a measured result for every source water.

Would the documented CAF301 80-gallon maker rating fit your replacement routine?

The card and current CAF301 replacement page state 80 gallons, but the CAP350 body is not listed on the checked current pitcher surfaces. Keep this for owner support, not a current buying result.

Is an exact lead-reduction test result essential?

The CAF301 page uses broad heavy-metal wording but no exact CAP350 performance-data table or named lead-test result was found. This model cannot satisfy an essential documented lead-result request.

A documented earlier alkaline pitcher

Clear2O’s 2015 catalog shows a blue-lidded pitcher labeled CAP350-BL. Its later one-page quick-start card and the current CAF301 replacement-filter page print the body code as CAP350BL, without the hyphen. The shared code, matching product presentation and explicit CAF301 fit statement support treating these as punctuation forms of the same owner-reference model, not as separate capacity or color options. The product is the Mineral Rich Alkaline Pitcher, a different system from Clear2O’s GRP200 gravity pitcher and its CWS100 faucet-pressure line.

The sources describe a five-stage replacement cartridge, CAF301: a micro-screen, granular coconut carbon, a tourmaline layer, pH-enhancing minerals and a non-woven membrane. Clear2O says the carbon improves chlorine taste and odor, the mineral stage adds calcium and magnesium, and the tourmaline stage reduces several heavy metals. The exact current CAF301 page identifies CAP350BL as the fit and rates the cartridge at 80 gallons. That gives an owner a useful part number and maker-stated service target; it is not a quantified reduction result for lead or a replacement life guaranteed under every water condition.

Do not confuse alkaline wording with a contaminant test

The maker’s launch announcement says the pitcher raises water pH to 8.5–9.0, while its quick-start card describes an increase of two pH levels from the starting water. Those are product-feature claims, not an independently measured result for every source water. The catalog and current replacement page also use broad wording about heavy metals and lead, but the sources reviewed do not provide a model-specific performance data sheet, numeric lead reduction, named standard certification or a microbial test result. If an exact lead or pathogen result is essential, this older alkaline feature does not satisfy that need.

The launch copy also attaches health language to alkaline water. A water pitcher’s pH or mineral claim does not establish a health benefit, diagnose or prevent disease, or change the body’s acid-base balance. Treat the feature as a taste or water-composition preference only, and do not use this system to make unsafe water microbiologically safe.

Setup is simple, but the vessel size is unknown

The quick-start card shows a top water window: insert CAF301 into the reservoir, press it firmly into its housing, soak the filter upright in cold tap water for two minutes, shake out trapped air and repeat, then fill through the lid opening without overfilling. It sets a maximum water temperature of 85°F (29°C), says not to use hot water, and instructs owners to hand-wash the pitcher, lid and reservoir rather than use a dishwasher. The card’s indicator uses green for a good filter, yellow for a filter that will soon need replacement and red for the replacement signal; it marks 80 gallons, but does not provide more precise color-change thresholds.

Neither the 2015 catalog, quick-start card nor CAF301 listing gives this pitcher’s total capacity, filtered-water volume, dimensions or a clear fridge-fit measurement. Do not treat the missing vessel-size specification as a small or large capacity choice, or estimate fit from the catalog image. The body’s exact maintenance schedule beyond the 80-gallon maker claim is also not reconciled to a time-based limit.

Consider it for an existing unit, not as a current body offer

The current Clear2O pitcher collection and all-products feed checked here show the GRP200 body, not CAP350BL. CAF301 is still listed as a replacement filter and explicitly names the old body code, but that does not prove a new pitcher is available or that current support covers a secondhand unit. The model therefore remains an owner reference rather than a current purchase recommendation. No recall or formal discontinuation conclusion is made from a missing current body listing.

If you already own a CAP350-BL, identify the actual body and cartridge markings before ordering, follow the quick-start card, and treat its alkaline and heavy-metal language conservatively. If you want a current Clear2O pitcher, compare the GRP200 review. Its 48-ounce, six-glass gravity format and GRF201/GRF203 replacement filters are not a CAP350 body or filter substitute.
